(This is a back post. As of June 9th I am in Los Angeles.)From Morro Bay we had a fast paced day to Port San Luis where we anchored off Avila Beach. The scene was idyllic and we mentioned it many times. We stayed a day in Avila Beach to prepare for another long and windy leg past Point Conception. We arrived at Point Conception’s Cojo Anchorage in record time with winds 20 – 30 kts.

May 30th, 2010Marquis and I made good time ( 20 hours ) from Monterrey to Morro Bay yesterday. We are beat and we had many lessons from the windhook. Before we left i tightened the prop nut after freeing some climbing line that got wrapped round the prop shaft. On the way down we saw a pod of beluga whales! We also hit 16 knots at a burst in up to 30 kt winds. Thats a record for me. Here is our gps track.
